Chapter 2
Perhaps my biggest regret is how I spent my whole life looking for safety.
Equal parts beguiled and blinded by the pursuit — but, as I would learn the hard way, when there is an absence of danger safety ceases to exist.
Cavemen didn’t defeat wild boars with fluffy, soft scraps of fur. Neither were any wars ever won on the premise of kindness.
So what exactly was the point of being raised with a practice of niceties?
These were questions that used to keep me awake at night but, that was before I stopped giving a fuck.
